Re: Auditioning for 2021 entry
I am totally shocked that those poor kids at Laine were told that! What an absolutely disgraceful lack of regard to the mental health of those students. They need support and guidance. It’s an incredibly tough time for the performing arts. A time to be creative and tenacious and hold your nerve. La...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry
To anyone contemplating the EDA sixth form, it's not for the feint-hearted but in my opinion they offer the best BTEC in the country. Some NAPMs will remember when we were considering the BTEC/ALevel routes and I received a terrible text from a "friend" which really ruined the excitement o...

Re: Seeds of doubt now
Goodness, I've only just seen this thread. What a horrible thing to do!! You know, there are lots of factors which influence a person's success, including how good they are, their own self-belief but also who you know and a bit of luck thrown in for good measure. Wasn't it the Emil Dale end of year...
Re: RCS
RCS is actually unfortunately getting a terrible name at the moment. Despite the fact they would all be able to get full funding due to being Scottish DDs college friends and her aren’t auditioning because of how it appears to be going down hill. The dance in non existent, they don’t train estill s...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry
My son had a boys trial day at Performers College on Saturday just gone and loved it. He is booked on the trial day at Emil Dale at the end of August and his 6th form performing arts group are visiting Urdang and Millenium next week. Oh I would have said hello if I'd known who you were! DS thorough...

Let Things Be??
Hi everyone, What's your take on this please - as ever, I'd be very grateful for any input. DS is with a big agency, more for younger kiddies in my humble opinion although they keep stressing they're not. Their Twitter feeds never feature anyone over about 10. Lovely agency, but we haven't had much ...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019
Absolutely. She's done amazingly well to get so close so often - an amazing achievement already whatever happens. =D> =D> DS is looking at the MT quadruple threat and I'm glad to hear there are regional auditions. What was the process like? All the best of luck to your dd with her other choices, I'm...

Re: BA MUSICAL THEATRE COURSE FOR SEPT 2018
I appreciated what CarolineA-C was trying to convey as DS is at the other end of the scale - no ballet or singing lessons, just tap and piano. That hasn't stopped him having professional theatre experience or getting onto a quality BTEC course at Emil Dale...BUT.....I do worry what he'll come up aga...

Re: 'Best fit' schools/colleges post 18?
Thank you for taking the time to share your daughter's amazing story of tenacity. You should be extremely proud of her and I'm delighted she has found somewhere where she is appreciated and cared for as we hope all of our children are once they're away from the family home. To me, the pastoral is as...

Hello Starstruck39, and happy exciting new year to your ds who sounds amazing! Wow, what a lovely decision to have to make :) Finding a host family basically comes down to EDA forwarding you an email address and you taking it from there to do your own introductions, visiting, due diligence, contract...

Re: Seeds of doubt now
As always you have all been very kind and I appreciate the contact I've had with so many warm, knowledgeable and understanding parents. Last night ds put his arm round me and said he can always go back to do A Levels if he needs to, but that for now he has a fire in his belly he can't ignore. That's...
