Re: Body types
Gosh, as if young people don't have enough to worry about throughout the application and audition process, without having to think about not being the correct height, weight, body shape for their preferred college!! Unless you are applying for The Royal Ballet School (and some other classical school...

Re: 6 year old comments
Such a lovely story coniger.
Too many times we read of young boys wanting to hide the fact that they do ballet.
May he continue to enjoy his dancing

Re: Class advice
At 5 anything she is doing should be for fun. You need a school that offers a range of dance classes so she can try them all. As she gets older and matures she will naturally drop those she is less interested in/good at. Ballet is the foundation of all dance so choose a school where she can study an...

Re: Birmingham Royal Ballet Open Class @ The Lowry
It's well worth regularly checking The Lowry website fartoomuchtodo. Many of the visiting dance companies offer workshops whilst they are in the region. Northern Ballet often have dance days at their headquarters in Leeds and Central School of ballet head north at least once a year . Their dance day...

House share in East London
Okay....this is not strictly about a performing dd but everyone on here is so helpful with a wealth of knowledge and good ideas that I thought I'd ask anyway! My eldest non dd is 27 and has been working in London for the last 4 years. Her most recent landlord sold the flat she was sharing a couple o...

Re: Audition preparation
I enjoyed spending time with her, meeting new people - and the same ones over and over so I had someone to chat with over a cup of coffee while we waited. I loved this 2dm, I agree it is such a privilege to be able to spend quality time with our teenage daughters (and sons). My Dd can be a very typ...

Re: Making the right decision at YR8?????
There are some really interesting points on here and at the end of the day what suits one child won't be right for another. As parents we are the experts on our own children but are constantly plagued by self-doubt and wanting to make the right decision. I live in an area where the 11 plus is still ...

Re: Musical Theatre BTEC vs A-Levels
I would have thought that after a year of auditions, studying and taking GCSE's your dd should use that time to take a well earned rest. Especially if she is successful and taking up a full time place in September!! :D I know dd's friends who started full time dance training in September are finding...
