Great, informative post Live_thedream. Differing view on Chichester than my DD but good to hear different opinions because everyone is different.

Re: Funding the future - Straight Acting
Hello, I have no words of wisdom for you but you're doing the right thing by gathering info together now. I thought I had gathered all the info I needed about funding over the years but things change & pop up from time to time unexpectedly! Funding is a nightmare isn't it unless covered by stude...

Re: Auditioning for 2017
Wow good luck to DC's who have recalls at Mountview today, exciting times =D> We have another lifeline from EDA & im keeping everything crossed that we can sort something out somehow. DD loved the place & the staff & she said Emil himself was lovely, I actually haven't come across a bad ...

Funding
Hello I wonder if anyone has any funding ideas? My daughter has been offered a part scholarship to Emil Dale Academy but it still leaves a substantial amount to find & as a single parent it's beyond me. The course isn't eligible for student loans/gov funding etc as it's a private institution. We...

Re: Auditioning for 2017
Also after declining the offer from Emil Dale & not hearing back from them I had a phone call from them today offering a larger scholarship because she scored highly in all disciplines which was lovely. Still don't think it's financially 'doable' though ](*,) so maybe a gap year would be a good ...

Re: Auditioning for 2017
Yes Beanie-bean it is very stressful & difficult financially but to be honest I've quite enjoyed it. DD has also got a lot out of the auditions process too & it has helped her confidence wise. Kzgirl, she's thinking of taking a gap year. When she chose her ucas options she chose places she t...

Re: Auditioning for 2017
Jasmine2 I did email EDA, the 1st time they replied with some ideas but the 2nd & 3rd time I received no reply. I also tried ringing several times but no answer, we had until 14th April to pay the deposit but £300 is a lot of money to lose if we couldn't secure funding by Sept so in the end we h...

Thanks islandofsodor, I think we'll pop along to the open evening & she can take another look without the pressure of an audition in her mind.

Re: Auditioning for 2017
Yes you're right it does have a good name. Well done to your DD =D> . What I think is that my daughter is a perfectionist & because she was in her opinion making mistakes she put herself in a downer & didn't enjoy the day haha. She said she liked the dance teacher but the others were too 'pr...

Re: Where should we hold these workshops
Sounds good
Please can you look at somewhere nr North Wales like Chester or LLandudno as there is never anything nearby & it takes over an hr & a half to get to Liverpool by train & about 3 hrs to get to S Wales etc!!
Fingers crossed

Re: Concerning the balance of school over working
An excellent post...thankyou =D> My dd is 13yrs old & academic but also a talented performer so getting the balance right is so difficult sometimes! We have decided on not getting her an agent yet & encouraging her to work hard at school & look fairly locally for auditions, or to look fo...
