Re: YMT and NYT audition results timing

We have been in a similar position one year - so I do know what you mean. DD was already a NYT member but had a casting recall for Joan of Arc - we had already paid for YMT production of Great Expectations. If your DD was successful getting into NYT, my view would be that she must do the two week me...

Agent while at Drama School?

Could anyone please let me know what happens to your representation while you are at Drama School - I know Schools don't want you going for castings until perhaps Year 3 - does anyone have experience of this that they wouldn't mind sharing. Much appreciated.

Re: After all that... you get offered Foundation!!

Thank you everyone for replying - Welshmum: DD is A Level year so still 17, so young in her year - I agree with you I think a year out would be a great experience for her. We are really not sure about the Foundation offer - so have decided to let it brew for a while - until this "process" ...

After all that... you get offered Foundation!!

Would really like to know what you think of Acting Foundation courses - feel for DD this week, after recalls then through to last round at Oxford Drama School to then be offered a place on the Foundation Course. Is this a good back up? (Albeit an expensive one!!) Still more auditions to go - DD was ...

Re: The how long between application and audition thread :)

Wow Uni applications and Drama School applications - written exam and interview, is she going for Oxbridge? Lots of fingers crossed, my DD has RADA audition around that time too. If we had Uni to think about as well - I think this household would explode!

Re: The how long between application and audition thread :)

My DDs auditions are mainly before Christmas too - with three in Jan - so quite full on towards the end of term. Good luck next inline and Clueless mum - let us know how they get on. Good to know I'm not the only one absorbed in this!!!!

Re: Answering audition questions

It's also this total lack of feedback which is so unhelpful - how can you grow? At least Guildhall say if they want you to change a speech for next time - you've got some where to go. My DD's drama tutor made a really good comment I thought - he said when you go for auditions (for a part in the real...

Answering audition questions

My DD is right in the middle of Drama School auditions now - I am trying to support her as best I can. The question that comes up, obviously, all the time is: Why are you applying to XYZ? My question to anyone who can help - is this specific to their School? Do they want to know why you want to go t...

Re: The how long between application and audition thread :)

Good luck everyone - and please let us know how you get on. Clueless Mum - did we chat when the girls were recalled for NYT productions, the Boiler Room I think? We have decided to go the Uni route if this year doesn't work out - so I imagine you must be looking at Exeter and UEA, too? Exciting time...

Re: The how long between application and audition thread :)

Hello our experience so far is: BOV - lovely and flexible, got an audition date three weeks after application, and was able to change the date twice. Guildhall - applied late August and received an audition date for end of Oct - they say allow about 8 weeks between application and audition Lamda - i...

Re: NYT

It was a no for us too - yes we got the email from Beth earlier. They did really well to get their recalls - very proud of them both. On to the next thing!!

Re: NYT

And to complicate it even more - NYT offer an Epic Stages training programme for six weeks in August, which you also have to audition for but you don't need to be a member to attend - selection is by audition. They also offer a Masterclass Week in October and February for drama school entry practice...

Re: NYT

Hello,

My dd attended the recall for The Boiler Room on Saturday - she was really pleased to get a recall for an NYT production. She was in the afternoon workshop in Brixton.
