Re: DD's new showreel or is it a dancereel?

If you want to have a go with a more sophisticated editing tool, Adobe offer a months free trial of their toolkit, including Premier Pro. Might be fun to see what you could do?

Re: IMBd

Sorry, I can't help you, but I recall other chats about this. If you pop IMBd in the search box (top RH side I'd this page) you might find some answers.

Re: First time audition help

Hi and welcome, and congratulations to your DD for getting her audition =D> =D> =D> There is a lot of information on this site about Matilda auditions and the requirements of the role too. Lots of NAPMs children have been through this process and a few have appeared in the production. My advice to y...

Re: Casting queries *newbie alert*

Hi Dan and welcome. My starting point would be with your DD. Does she absolutely, totally, completely want to do this? You mention your wife's interest first. It's great that she wants to support your DD, but it's not an easy path to navigate so if it isn't your DD who is leading the way, I would pr...

Re: Mondi associates

I don't know this agent, but 20% is by no means high as a commission rate. And most good agents expect exclusivity. To be honest, anything other than that could prove almost impossible to manage as all agents could have a legitimate right to commission on any job. And if Francescasmum recommends it,...

My daughters have been represented by both agencies. Both are very good, but very different. Feel free to PM me if you want to share experiences.

Re: Agency Audition Help

Any agent worth their salt would want to meet you. And you are quite right that it's a long way to go for a possible 'no', but isn't that the world we're in? Every audition can be a long way to go, with a high probability of a 'no'. I see that you live in West London, so perhaps you have been lucky ...

Re: agencies

There is a lot of information about agents on this forum. My advice to anyone new here is always to take the time to read through all the threads, you will find a rich supply of information and advice that should answer all your questions, including many that you didn't know you might need to ask. I...

Re: Agency audition

Irishdancer is absolutely spot on. The best preparation you can give your DD is to prepare her to have fun, relax and enjoy it. The agency will have done this many times before so they'll know how to make it a good experience for her, so you can relax too. At 4, she has time in her side. If she does...

Re: Licence to perform

I haven't been asked for a GP letter for Flo for ages - just a parental declaration. But when GP certificates were the norm, ours charged £5 each and didn't see the girls before issuing them. I just took an unsigned version into reception, paid them money and a couple of days later I popped back to ...

Re: A remark from a TV and Film Director

children who train for theatre often have trouble with film and television because they sometimes have difficulty realising they dont need to project to the back of the room and they need to keep things small and real. You are absolutely right. Flo had to forget everything she had learnt about acti...
