Re: Drama school or not? So confused!

Thank you so much for your comments. Much of it is what I had in my own head but it's so difficult trying to decide the best route. Personally, the fees are what have put me off drama school but the contacts are just so appealing. I'm wondering whether a short or year long course might be a good opt...

Drama school or not? So confused!

Hi all! I would be so grateful for any advice, im in a bit of pickle! Im 19 at the moment and since A levels I have been pursuing both acting and writing work but nothing really of any note. Ive contacted agencies before but feel at my age, they will only consider drama school graduates or people wi...

Re: Hay fever

Hi!

Apparently eating local honey can help. It's something to do with desensitisation as it contains small amounts of pollen and helps your body not react so strongly to it. Not sure how well it actually works but may be worth a try!

Re: Epic stages

Thanks for your reply! I think I have decided against it really, bit too expensive when I haven't heard anyone review it!

Epic stages

Has anyone completed this course or knows whether it would be worth doing? It's a six week course run by the NYT but it's £2000 and I can't seem to find any reviews of it!

Re: Light Years - Feature Film

I think its genuinely a case of they can't find the perfect people for it, I don't think they particularly wanted locals. Yes, it seems everyone has auditioned for this!

Re: agents for 18 year old

Hi, Thanks for the replies! I've just finished my A levels and will be taking a gap year next year to gain work experience, do volunteering and continue acting. As of the moment, I'm not too keen on doing drama school as I don't think it would really suit me and don't think it's necessarily the best...

agents for 18 year old

Hi,
I know there are a lot of posts about agents but there aren't any really about ones 18+ year olds. I'm a bit stuck with which ones to apply for, do I go for adult agencies? And can anyone suggest any good ones in the UK?
Thank you!

Re: BOVTS Summer School

Hi! I went to the classical acting course last summer and found it brilliant, its very popular though so I would get in quick. I even had people from America and Belgium in my group. The outline of the day I would presume is the same as classical; in the morning you have an hour of each class, voice...

Re: Children with fixed Braces

Hi Louey, I havent had personal experience with this but it was one of the reasons I didnt have braces put on as I thought it might hault opportunities. Perhaps still apply to agencies but if you are asked to audition make it known that your child will be having braces. As long as youre honest, they...

Weather conditions

Hi everyone, Im suppossed to be doing some filming tommorrow but the weather is awful and I live about 2 and 1/2 hours away. Im concerned about getting there and then them telling me that filming has been cancelled as it will be a long and expensive journey, however I hate to let people down. Does a...

Re: Change Agencies?

Check your contact because I think some wont even allow you to contact other agencies while you are with them. If it doesnt mention this then I would start sending out CV and headshots to other agencies because its your career at the end of the day. And 2 auditions in 2 years isnt acceptable to me. ...

Re: Chilli Kids v D&D v BoBe

For D&D i have only had acting jobs and I think they are more geared towards that (as well as commercials) rather than modelling. They really are lovely and I feel you get more of a personal interaction with them. They are always busy and seem to have lots of castings flooding in every day. They...

Re: How to perform at the Edinburgh fringe festival?

Thanks for all your comments! Im in the last year of sixth form and my school is very stingy when it comes to providing money for the arts subjects so a subsidy from them will be near impossible! Im really tempted to put a show together next year as im thinking of taking a year out to do acting work...
