Re: Auditioning for 2016
Crazy, when you think of the talent of someone like Sheridan Smith who left school at 16 What do A level grades have to do with performing MT?

Re: Life after MT courses. Any success stories?
As Katymac said, we also always look at the programmes to see where people trained - particularly the young ensemble who are often fresh out of college. The information is usually available online for current West End musicals too, and if you click on the images you get a brief CV for each cast memb...

Re: Can you join adult Spotlight without an agent?
It's harder to get into adult Spotlight than it is Children/Young Performers, and you can't automatically transfer even with an agent. If you haven't trained at an accredited drama school, you need to have professional acting experience and this must be a minimum of four jobs in either theatre, film...

Re: Arts Ed - diploma / degree
And at the present time, I would say Arts Ed has the best reputation for the MT graduates it's producing, but this is always subject to change in the future, a few years ago it was Mountview. (Just a personal opinion, but given a choice, I would choose it above any of the others).

Re: Arts Ed - diploma / degree
If you do the diploma you are eligible to apply for a Dada, a means-tested scholarship which reduces the level of fees you have to pay. So say the household income is £40k, the student only pays £1275 a year. If your income is below £30k you can also apply for a means-tested maintenance grant. In a ...

Re: Spotlight?
I think most casting directors contact the agents of those they want to see by phone. Then confirm meeting details by email once it's all been set up.

If you're on an ipad or iPhone make sure Safari hasn't been set to Private browsing. If you've got private browsing switched on, Safari appears black or dark instead of white or gray.
Re: BFG film
Think they've raised the age on this, now looking for 10 - 11 year old. Amazing opportunity.

Re: Agency Contract Help URGENT
I'm really sorry to hear you're having such problems. The agency just sounds like they're being really vindictive, so unnecessary after your ds has been with them for so long, you would have thought they would want to leave on good terms and remain friendly especially if he is lucky enough to go on ...
Re: Gordon and French and Shepherd Management
Wow, they're both absolutely amazing agencies, you can't go wrong with either of them! Perhaps Shepherd Management have slightly more younger clients so might be more suitable for a 16 year old, but Gordon and French are one of the best and most exclusive agencies out there so to get on their books ...

Re: Agents fee
Most acting agencies charge between 10 and 15 % plus VAT on TV, film and theatre work. Modelling and commercials agencies charge up to 25% plus VAT.

Re: Bonnie and Betty
OMG!!   I am totally shocked. I've also always thought the 25% commission these new agencies seem to charge was a little high - but assumed it was because the majority of the work they get clients is for modelling/commercials so they got away with it. But 37.5% ?????? :...

Re: What funding could I receive?
Dadas are for 16 years+ for dance, and 18 years+ for acting, and only at certain schools (as the schools themselves have to go through an application process to be eligible to offer them). I'm not sure but I think it's only the original London-based Italia Conti school that is eligible for them. Ful...

Has anyone auditioned at Read Dance and Theatre College? For the 6th Form Btec or the musical theatre foundation?
