NYT

Does anyone have any recommendations for an NYT monologue? I am finding it really difficult to find a monologue for a female aged late teens/ early 20s. I have looked through two of my favorite plays with age appropriate characters but neither of them have long enough monologues. I also bought a boo...

Jumpy by April de Angelis

Does anyone know if Tilly (the daughter) has a monologue in this? Or a section of speech that could easily be made into a monologue? I really like the plot and the character and was thinking of using it for my NYT audition but I don't want to spend all that money if I can't use the play. I went to t...

Spotlight Photo Help

I'm trying to renew my spotlight account and I want to update my book photo but it is saying the photo I want " is too small for print. Please ensure your photo is at least 800 pixels wide by 1,000 pixels high".

Does anyone know how I can change the size of a photo? Many thanks :D

Re: Hay fever

None of these tips are revolutionary so im sure you've thought of them already but the things that help me are taking claritin and wearing sun glasses as preventative measures and then when my eyes get swollen I find dabbing warm water on them really helps. This year has been especially bad but the ...

Re: Watching auditions

My mum once had to sit in on an audition of mine (BBC policy at the time I think) and I really liked it for the reasons you said. It was really interesting to have someone to discuss it with afterwards!

Re: permission refused. is head mistress being unreasonable?

I am so sad that the government is making state schools do this! I just left 6th form last year and for the whole time I was at school (state schools all my life) all my schools were so supportive. Even at secondary school, not only did the school allow students to take time off (even during GCSE an...

Re: Stage article - too many drama school places

PG - I completely get what you're saying and it does make a lot of sense. For the sake of the industry as a whole it would be mad to train more women than men, so for this purpose the drama schools are being very sensible. And agree that the biggest problem is getting more female roles written. But ...

Re: Stage article - too many drama school places

My DD would be applying in September and we are all in agonies about the best plan for her...Drama school or Uni (she's quite academic) and a post grad in acting or MT. It's a head/heart dilemma
Totallycluelessmum I had the same dilemma last year. Your welcome to PM if you want

Re: Stage article - too many drama school places

Agree -found the remarks about ethnic minorities offensive. One problem that I have with drama school admissions is that I heard (and correct me if i'm wrong) that in general 5 times as many girls apply as boys but many schools have a policy of accepting 50% of each gender which I think is very unfa...

Re: CBBC Hetty Feather

Hetty is described as having 'fiery red hair' in the books. I played Hetty in the book trailers for 3 of the books in the series. I have red hair but it isn't bright ginger so in one of the trailers the production company died my hair more red. Maybe they are considering dying hair/ wigs for the TV ...

Re: Harry Potter Stage Play!!!

When I was in year 2 me and some of my friends climbed the school fence in an attempt to escape because we genuinely thought Voldemort was in the school  . I am a very dedicated Harry Potter fan so i'm hoping maybe they might have some scenes with Harry's mum and I could play her! Although i'll...
