Re: Change 100
Thank you suzcarlaj - that's kind of you. It really has been an incredible opportunity. Just to add that his singing teacher was in Phantom of the Opera. My ds is now in rehearsals for Treasure Island and his academic grades have gone up across all his subjects and he's settled into Stowe School rea...

Change 100
Stowe School, a day and boarding school in Buckingham, have recently set up Change 100. This is to enable children who have a keen interest in drama, music, art or sport a place at Stowe, with anything up to 100% of the fees paid through scholarships and bursaries. They started it last September and...

Re: Tring park associate programme for singing and acting
Hi Aku, Well done to your dd. My kids used to go to Tring park associates and it was great. It was fine when all the classes were on the Saturday as I could take them and make a day of it. Once my dd had moved up a grade or two they moved some of the classes to different days which meant that we wer...

Re: When you are too tall for theatre... where do you go? Screen??
Hi Willywonka Has he tried to join an agency to get screenwork? I'm not sure where you are based, but if he has done Spirit training then I presume you can get into London easily? I agree with you that there seems to be a bit of a lack for anything that isn't dance based, but needs more than the gro...

Re: What do you look for in an agent?
Someone who knows my child and can be reached quickly and easily Someone who doesn't have an assistant who fobs me off telling me they're busy while I hear them whispering it in the background - yes it did happen in the past unfortunately Someone who gets the Spotlight picture up immediately Someone...

Re: Spirit or Stagebox ?
Becasue you are paying for training, not performance, the performance is just a nice add on. My dd goes to full time vocational college. Her fees cover her training, the dance classes, the vocal technique lessons, the acting classes. It doesn't cover the fact that some ghet solos/main parts in the ...

He did an acting course at RADA last summer and has just completed 100 shows in The Mousetrap and some TV work. So it’s totally possible to transfer from MT to straight acting roles.

Re: At wit's end
ghostofpp be kind to yourself - it sounds like you've been through a lot lately and sometimes it's okay to take a breath and give yourself a break. Go to the gym if it makes you feel better and try not to focus too much on the negative. I hope you get your dreams but be kind to yourself in the meant...

Music Videos
Just a quick question -
Can music videos of children be listed on IMDb without their permission? No photos just names.
Thanks for any replies X

Re: Juggling school and working - when does something have to give?
Not great if it's from the Head but then at least if you need to discuss things with the teachers they don't usually need to be involved. The good thing about silent hostility is that you can pretend to be completely oblivous to it! If it's uncomfortable for you to go in, then just email in and beha...

Re: Juggling school and working - when does something have to give?
Congrats to him. If he likes the school, why not approach them and ask about the 'silent hostility'? Is it coming from just one teacher or a number of people? I know exactly what you mean and if it's making you feel uncomfortable then that's not right!

Re: What to do with Coat etc in an audition?
Everyone I've ever seen takes their things with them. If you left your coat with someone else they may be called into another room for a casting and might be in there for a while. You couldn't interrupt to ask for your things back.

My DS was in two professional stage shows last year and was cast as 19th Roman from the Left behind a tree in the school show.   At his junior school I was told that my ds "as a professional" - (their words not mine!) should decide if and when he rehearsed with the other c...

Re: School Absence
I like the idea of presenting it as a fait accompli.
Would it be educated off site though? If there is no tutor and they are missing a school day, would it not just be authorised absence?
