Re: Travel to castings

Thanks, no we don't get any help towards the travel. So we had a recall last week and it cost me £200 with the first and second one and I just can't afford to carry on like this :(
My DS is really gaining in confidence through doing the castings and he loves it.
Thanks for all your advice,

Re: Travel to castings

Thanks everyone, this really does help. They are mainly for commercials and then when we get there we seem to be one of a hundred. We've had several call backs and a couple of pencils in but nothing yet. It's all feeling a tad soul destroying right now especially when we feel we have to say yes to t...

Travel to castings

This is all still v new to me and I have a few questions re castings please. Our agent phones us the night before which I guess is pretty standard and often the castings are a significant way away eg 200 miles ONE way so a 400 mile round trip. We've been told that we are expected to attend 'most' of...

Re: Those of you up north

Thanks everyone, we are in South Yorkshire. We've invested in a railcard to try to keep costs down but I think I'm going to have to start turning things down as it is just too expensive to keep this rate up. I'm really glad that others can empathise as I was starting to feel a bit down about it all

Re: Those of you up north

Thanks both, this is still all so new to us and I'm learning all the time. I think I need to take a chill pill over it all. I'm not stressed in that I'm pushy stressed, I'm stressed in that I want to get there etc but keep finding I can't. It is so reassuring to hear what you have both said. I didn'...

Those of you up north

I'm hoping there are more northerners on here who can relate to what I'm saying. We get phone calls at silly times telling us to be in London and it's just not doable. Are others in the same position and if so how do you manage it? We got one yesterday morning to be in London for later that day. The...

Re: New and Lost!

What great advice, thanks. We've had another 2 dashes to London in the last week alone. Not got anything yet but I guess it is very early days. DS is loving it and is so much more confident already. Each one that comes in I give him the option of going or not and he's always eager to get there. I gu...

Re: New and Lost!

Thanks everyone, that really does help. My DS is 10 years old. He's been called for a few adverts and one TV series in the last week. I'm relieved to hear that 4 a week isn't the norm as I've no idea how we'd cope with that. I'm telling him to put each casting behind him once it has happened and jus...

New and Lost!

Hi I'm new to all this and feeling incredibly lost. My son has recently got an agent and the castings are starting to come in - we've had 4 in the last week - is this a lot or how it is? I just don't feel I know what I'm doing at all. Everything seems rather haphazard with calls coming through the d...
