Absolutely not - my dd finished 3 years at Laine last July and contrary to popular belief was not weighed once in the whole 3 years!

Hi - I think it depends where you're auditioning. My dd auditioned 3 years ago Urdang/Conti/Laine and is now in 3rd year at Laine. I would say ballet quite classic - black leotard/pink tights but for jazz something to stand out a bit more - i think my dd wore a bright leotard although a lot of them ...

Hi reachforthestars - my dd currently in 3rd year at Laine - everyone follows the same course for the first 2 years it is only in final years you choose between dance and MT. Even then the days are very similar - timetables change every term, she has opted to do MT and next term hers will include 5...

hi reachforthestars - dd just gone into 3rd year at Laine - from memory we were there for 9-9.30 they did a ballet class a jazz class and an acting class in the morning (in groups so could be in any order) break for lunch then solo dances/songs in afternoon. Can't remember what order but may have be...

Yes reachforthestars - she went at 16, auditioned for the experience and ended up getting in :shock: She was too scared to turn it down and do A levels then re audition - Laine was her first choice for many years so she was very lucky :D xx

Hi reachforthestars - she is on Musical Theatre, they all do the same for first 2 years and they only had to decide by end of June 2nd year. She said there is not much difference between the two. We chose to audition after christmas as she had GCSE mocks in December then could get auditions out the ...

She would have only been in one number that night - but four on the main cast A shows. She is already stressing about going into 3rd and final year as that means she'll be off into the big wide world of auditions :shock:

Hi 2girlsmum - yes she was! Depending on what show you saw - she was cast A! We loved it but obviously biased ;)

lindy7 - my dds friend did GSA foundation last year and has been really successful this year - offered GSA MT/Bird/LSC/Arts Ed - she has always dreamed of going to Arts Ed so has accepted that - I know people are sceptical about Foundation Courses but for her it has been brilliant :lol: good luck xx

Dd just about to finish 2nd year at Laine - and yes those lists do move right into the summer holidays up to when people receive A level results :roll: She has loved every minute of her time there :D Good luck to everyone still waiting to make those big decisions xxx

Yes Dada/funding results much slower at Laine than original offers - good luck all my dd just finishing 2nd year and is loving it! :lol:
