Auditioning for 2020 straight actiing (Not MT)
I'm starting a new thread because so many DC on the other thread are triple threat and my DS does not sing or dance. I'm sure his school are supporting him but I want to get my head round it myself. I know RADA and LAMDA. Where else should he be looking at?

Mandy, backstage....etc.
My DD is 16 and just finishing her GCSE's. She was hoping to find some acting work over the long summer holiday, maybe even extra work. Has anyone used Mandy or Backstage for castings? Are there any better ones? Any suggestions?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Brit School
My DS has a place at the Brit School to do theatre. He's so pleased. He also auditioned for Artsed but we really couldn't afford it so we are chuffed to bits that he got his place. Anyone else?

Re: Brit School
Thanks Bumble Bee
My son is very excited to go for the audition on Monday. When we went to the open day it felt very music/performing arts focussed and I was a bit worried that straight theatre wasn't as good...but he thinks it's great.

Re: Summer courses
Yes he has auditioned for NYT two years running and didn't make it.
He has some money from a relative for excellent GCSE's and he thought it would be good to spend it on a week or two in the summer

Has anyone's DS done the Summer course at the Globe? Or does anyone recommend a summer course in theatre/acting but not musical theatre. My DS is 16. Thanks

My son has an audition for the theatre strand for sixth form. Can anyone give tips for the audition? Also anyone have a son or daughter who has done the theatre strand and give us their opinion? It is very tempting because it is free, but I'm not sure the theatre strand has as good a reputation as m...

16+ theatre studies or acting (not Musical theatre)
We live in London and looking for ideas for sixth form for our son and perhaps daughter. They have had no sing or dance training and don't enjoy it. They don't do musical theatre but love acting, straight acting. We have found a few courses for acting but it looks like all the auditions include musi...
