What to do, what to do.

I'm currently without an agent, and am looking into getting one again. I'll be going to University in Brighton in September, so I'm just trying to figure out if it'll be worth sorting it out then, or sorting it out now? There is a audition workshop coming up for Mark Jermin Management in London. I d...

Re: Monologue for Agent.

Oooh, you'll have to let us know how it goes! I was thinking of trying for Kelly Management! [-o< You'll be fine! Don't forget you're auditioning them as much as they're auditioning you! ;) Thanks. :) I've heard they're good, so we'll see. One more thing, how long should it be? Don't want to overki...

Re: Monologue for Agent.

Congrats on the audition! =D> From what I've learnt, the best type of monologue is one that suits you. A character that is similar to your age, maybe an experience you've been through like bullying and something that you can understand. Which agency are you trying out for? :D Thanks. :) It's for Ke...

Re: Getting Started. Again.

It depends what the photo is like to be honest. You could take a look at photos on Casting Call Pro and see how yours compares. It's probably not worth spending loads on a professional photo at this stage. The important things are that it's recent, full face, fairly tightly cropped head and shoulde...

Re: Getting Started. Again.

It sounds as though you know just where you want to go, which is great! After reading your post, I would definitely recommend getting Actors' Yearbook (and possibly a copy of Contacts if you haven't already got it). Actors' Yearbook lists lots of agents and also, very usefully, tells you what they ...

Re: Getting Started. Again.

Hi there Great advice you've already received! Just a few thoughts to add: I'd second the idea of contacting your old agent for their ideas/advice - they may have contacts with other agents for when their clients "out-grow" their own agency. You are entering quite a different part of the ...

Getting Started. Again.

Firstly, I'm a 17-year-old male college student in Gloucestershire, so I'm not a mum, let alone a pushy mum, but this forum seems like the best place for good information and support so I'll stick with it. Basically, I used to do weekly acting classes and I also had an agent. It was a good run at th...
