Re: Guidelines for COVID 19for students

Hello! I’m not surprised you are very worried! It sounds like your daughter’s Uni have made no effort at all. My DS is at Laine and they are doing ‘blended learning’. All singing, acting, voice and contextual classes will continue to be on Zoom. Dance classes have been set in bubbles of 5-7 students...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

It’s just one list for Laine but when the letters go out the top ones from the list will get offers and then everyone else will get a letter stating which number they are on the reserve list. Some who are offered a DADA will turn it down if they prefer somewhere else, or realise they can’t afford t...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

For anyone waiting for DADA news from Laine, the office have asked all current 1st & 2nd years to update their information by Tues 5th May so that they know how much of the DADA pot will then be available for new 1st years. In previous years the DADA letters then went out around early - mid May if I...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

For anyone asking about Laine DADA auditions, last year it was about 6 weeks I think before the letters came out. (It certainly felt that long!) My DS received a letter placing him 3rd on the boy’s reserve list. He finally got the call that he had made it in mid-July. It was a very long wait but tot...

Re: Auditioning for 2020 entry

To anyone contemplating the EDA sixth form, it's not for the feint-hearted but in my opinion they offer the best BTEC in the country. Some NAPMs will remember when we were considering the BTEC/ALevel routes and I received a terrible text from a "friend" which really ruined the excitement of being o...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

An update! Our DS finally heard from Laine yesterday that he has a DADA!!! We are so proud of him (and somewhat relieved) and are enjoying the celebrations this weekend. :D The guy one below him on the waiting list also had a yes this week so the Boys’ waiting list is now down to #5 (or later?) if t...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

We're still waiting too! We're waiting for the Laine funding list to move.

I agree, it's been so quiet on here. Just hoping to hear good news from everyone and that the lists are moving!

Sending virtual hugs to everyone waiting [-o<

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

This waiting is killing me! Do any of your DCs know of any boys who have been offered funding at Laine but haven’t made their mind up yet as they have other offers? Just trying to gauge how realistic it is for the list to move. My DS is currently #2 on the boy’s reserve list and he’s desperate...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Hello! Our update is that our DS is #3 on the Boys' reserve list for Laine funding. Having trawled through the previous year threads we are hopeful that he will make it to the top of the list, but know that we might have a long wait! (And also that it might not happen  ) Do any of you have DSs ...

Well done Felicity for your DDs offer from Urdang - I’ll pm you some contacts who are in the 3rd year of the BA course there. They have had a great 3 years!

Re: Which GCSE?!

Hi riverdancefan, Thank you for reply, your ds’s dance and drama at school sound very similar to dd’s. This is exactly what we thought, and heard from other students who are doing them, that unfortunately they are not great, and like you say, some people choose them thinking it’s an easy option, wh...
