Re: The Bromley Boys
My son went up for it, but since it was only yesterday that he was seen, it's probably a bit early for news! But will post if we hear anything. A great role for a football mad kid

Re: School
We always keep our school up to date with any possible jobs. They are usually ok about agreeing time off. They wont allow time off for castings so we ask that we get late casting times, however this isn't always possible. One of my children's schools doesn't like the idea of acting / modelling work ...

Re: Anybody ever been to a premiere?!
How exciting! We have been to a premiere at Leicester Square, like you I couldn't decide what to wear, went for a long dress and high heels (as i'm on the small side). I had my 3 ds's with me and they went in smart shirts and dark jeans. At the entrance they took ds's photo in front of all the photo...
Showreel
I just wanted to recommend actorshowreels.co.uk, they did a really great job on my ds's showreel and they were very patient!
Anyway thought I would mention it as I do see it mentioned on the forums every now and again.

Re: Meeting with Head re Time Off
We approached the head teacher last term of my ds's new secondary school. We were totally honest about how much ds benefitted from his acting but that we were also concerned about his schooling. We told him that we would only take ds out of school for good opportunities and work with the school to e...

Re: Time off school
Personally I think it would depend on the school. Although our school is supportive they don't like ds having time off. So we try and keep it to a minimum. I would chat with them first and if they are ok about it then go for it.

Re: Bonnie and Betty
[quote] Blimey - that's a lot of castings! How did you keep up?[quote] Well Flosmum we were exhausted and realised that DS did not have a 'commercial look' and was never booked for adverts. Which is one of the reasons we left to move onto more acting roles. He now has fewer castings but we are happy...

Re: Bonnie and Betty
That is a shame. However in their defence, when we were with them my DS got castings at least 4 x a week. He got work with them and we were happy. Have you contacted them to ask how you could improve your chances of getting a casting? I have found them very approachable (in my experience). Sometimes...

Re: Adult agencies which take on Child actors.
Thanks for the replies. A chaperone that was with DS on set mentioned that I should look into putting him with an adult agency that takes a select few child actors. So I thought I would look into it but so far haven't had much luck

Adult agencies which take on Child actors.
I have looked through the past posts but can't find what I'm looking for.
Could anyone tell me which adult agencies take on child actors?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Bonnie and Betty
Hi I can tell you our experience of Bonnie and Betty, all very positive. Definitely not a scam. Yes they ask for website fees and the fees for the photos. You can take the disc for a fee but you don't have to. My three ds's were with them for 3 years and two of them had plenty of castings and a few ...

Re: Extra Roles
My ds's agent has taken all extra work and adverts off ds's spotlight and only shows featured roles in tv parts.
He is still a child, what I thought was good experience, the agent doesn't!! However I still think its been great that he's done the other stuff as it is experience.

Re: short film via spotlight
My agent contacted us ref film part, I asked if it was a student film and they said no. However when I had all the details it was no pay, over 3 days of school and no casting fees either!
Unfortunately costs do mount up and we had to say no.

However you only have to watch a few reality tv programmes to see some parents are not responsible at all!
