Re: Auditioning for 2017

My did is at Tring, started in sept and she is so happy there. Academically it is excellent too as they do 3-4 A levels as well as their preferred performing arts course. Just wanted to post this for anyone thinking of applying.

Re: Bonnie & Betty Teens

My DD is with them and has had loads of amazing opportunities. Mainly extra work on films the last one being Les Mis but as this is what she wants to do then it suits. Dd 12 so not many casting as seem to be lots for 13+ at mo, if the kids fit the brief they get submitted. The girls in the office ar...

Re: Not sure if the job is paid or not!?

My dd did a shoot for a Childline video but we were told up front it was unpaid as was for charity. We did get expenses and dd got the credit on her portfolio, it was a good experience :))

Extra Roles

Just wondered what peoples opinions were on extra roles? My DDs are about to be involved in filming for the third time in the last few months as extras. I have always looked as these opportunities as beneficial but don't want them to miss out on other things if it is not looked upon favourably. What...

Re: Sylvia Young Theatre School Summer/Easter schools

The application for the full time school is in The Stage Jan/ Feb time but not sure about the easter/ summer schools. I would give their part time dept a ring, they are usually very helpful, leave a message if they don't answer also. Good luck :D :D

Re: Scene cut

We had a similar experience with WWZ filming recently. MY 2 DDs were cast for a small scene with 2 days filming booked. Neither of the girls ended up being used and had to be tutored for the whole time instead whilst other children were used, they were both very disappointed plus the time we had use...

Re: Dissertation

I have just completed a degree in midwifery so know nothing regarding the subjects surrounding your dissertation. However one piece of advice I do have is to choose a subject that you love as you sleep, eat and breathe you chosen topic. It's hard to choose between a subject that has been well writte...

Re: Paying for your child to be in panto?

The company that my DDs have been involved with for the past 5 years always charge a nominal fee of about £20 to go towards costumes. As the lead chaperone also I have a bit of an understanding of the huge costs involved in putting on such a production and believe me the fee goes no-where near the f...

Re: Making the right decision at YR8?????

I have 4 DD so have had a lot of experience regarding decision making and school choices. The best advice that I can give is to select a school that is right for each individual child. My eldest is currently at grammar school but she should never really have gone as she has struggled and I believe h...

It is not great to be perfectly honest. It a huge agency and they charge a large annual fee for representation.
