Re: Spotlight
We had a similar problem, we changed agents in June 2015. renewal has been due in April but I forgotten when it was due because of some confusion that had occurred the previous year. Spotlight informed the old agency but the old agent didn't pass that on. Spotlight didn't inform the new agency when ...

DD was one of the first to subscribe, it came free when she joined an agency so we don't have to pay. We are also from the north and I'm not sure that I would pay if it wasnt free because as you say there are very few northern jobs. Dd is 14 now and as Lyndahill said there's not a lot on there for t...

Re: RSL qualification
Whilst music exams and dance exams say they come with UCAS points, colleg/universities etc rarely consider them when looking at the points you have amassed/need so I would imagine that those gained through this qualification will fit into the same bracket.

Re: Artist Developement would it be worth it?
Hi musically, my dd has signed with an artist development and management company and we are so happy with how it is going so far. My dd is 14 and writes her own material, she also plays 5 instruments. I think this is what they found attractive about someone who is so young. She has already recorded ...

Re: Pencilling
x-sugarplumfairy-x, that's what happened to my dd except the other way round, she went as the stand-in and got swapped to the main girl! So it works both ways, sometimes to your advantage, sometimes not.

Re: Pencilling
My dd was on pencilled for an advert which involved a family scene. At the final recall there were just three 'families' one blonde family (including dd), one brunette family and one mixed hair colour family. After all three families had been in, they sent the girl from the mixed hair colour home an...

Re: Query on performing arts degree costs
It seems to be the same in what ever they study. My oldest DD studied photography and manages a Women's clothes shop! Never got a job in the photography world. I think far too many people go to university nowadays, it's the default. When I was at school only the top two sets of six stayed on for six...

Re: Trinity or Lamda?
My DD got her grade 6 in MT singing when she was 11 with LCM (London College of Music) we were told it is equivalent to a grade C AS Level and 12 UCAS points, it says Level three on the certificate, her grade 5 certificate says Level two, which I guess is GSCE level. This is a link to the page for L...

That was a long wait, I presume she must have been on the reserve list. So well done to her.

Re: At what point do you stop doing things for free?
It's a tricky one, my dd still does both. I always look at the project first, I don't consider the money, if dd will enjoy it or get some think worthwhile out of it, I submit her, whether it's paid or not. A local amateur theatre company dd has worked with several times puts all the money they recei...
