Re: Central Recalls
Hello soda, Jaybee is right, Central do a final "3rd" audition session after each block, usually a few weeks after. From what I remember the final recall is a long session - starts about 2 and finished about 8pm! If your DD got through to the afternoon and still hasn't heard anything I wou...

Re: Conference on Mental Health in Drama Training
I also know that MTA take a SIGNIFICANT deposit to hold open a place on their courses and then don't refund it ....
However I do think the mental health of all our young people does need considering, just not sure if MTA are the best to promote this ...

Re: PPA
Hello als17, we love PPA!! My son was offered the 3 year MT diploma there, (but ended up going to CSSD) but was all prepared to accept it. Funding was tricky as I remember as it wasn't eligible for student grant, but the general feeling was that they work really hard for their students and were love...

Re: So, what has DD forgotten to pack?
We have found one of those Sainsbury's cards brilliant if there is one nearby - it's like two credit cards - they take one and you pay credit on yours and they can spend it in Sainsbury's at the other end! Lots of trust that it's going on food, but I have found that food is a major priodty for DS wi...

Re: MT degree course applications for 2015, open days and
HI Soda, Yes Central is UCAS, also GSA and Arts Ed. I think Urdang is both UCAS and their own form as I remember ! Mountview just direct to them. I would always check on the individual websites tho - cos it does change sometimes! They do a lot of showing around at the audition day usually to save ha...

Re: Fort Boyard auditions?
Hello Supamum, good luck with your DD 's application! My Ds did it 2 years ago, (currently on repeat on CITV Ha Ha!) he had an absolute ball - they really looked after them and were very friendly - even the Auditions were great fun - I can highly recommend it! There is some other info on another thr...

Re: Auditions: cuts and recalls/2nd Auditions
HI Dorothy, Sorry to hear about your DD and GSA, I agree with Amanda, of all of them, GSA is so short that first round, it makes it even more of a lottery. Keep going and it will all come out right for her. Chichester sounds a good course and with dedication and hard work she can get where she wants...

Re: Applying for 2014
Hello nigelben and Dorothy, so glad it's more positive this time around, though no less stressful! I asked Arts ed last year (they offered DS foundation) why they would do that as oppose to a degree and their reply was that normally they offer it to candidates who they feel are strong in two discipl...

Re: Auditions: cuts and recalls/2nd Auditions
I wish this had been here when we did our auditions! I can confirm that Central do a cut at lunch time then do a further final recall on another day.
Well done Katymac, very useful.

Re: Application forms
Central do the morning, a big cut at lunch time as is normal with most of them (100 down to about 10 at Central), then a separate day about a week/10 days later - final recall day. They run four/ five of them through the year, ours was in Feb from a January audition. From memory, I think GSA also do...

Re: Application forms
Katymac, If your DD gets call backs you may need to reschedule some of the first round ones. we found that they were very accommodating though. We also changed some of them at this stage as we had a similiar month last January (with a couple of A levels and driving test thrown in too!) They do under...

Re: Applying for 2014
Nigelben, does your Ds not have any other points he can cobble together from dancing, musical instruments, DofE or something? What is he doing this year, as he maybe could just do something to top up his points? I'm sure its worth applying anyway, as he had a recall last year they will probably stil...
