Re: Has COVID changed your DC training/career plans?

Our DS who went to Sylvia Young then graduated from Bird has completely changed career path for now as, at 21 wants to actually make money. He has in the past been in several West End shows, Tv and his last job was lead actor in Louis Tomlinson's videos and had some lovely opportunities over the yea...

Re: Rates of Pay for TV

Hi Mizme, is this through an agent? Your agent would be able to negotiate the correct fees and chaperone fees ( if you are chaperoning) for you

Re: Ann Koska?

A load of our kids were in the Disney Christopher Robin film and were cast by Ann Koska. It was filming locally in Kent and they used our stage school for auditions. It was a brilliant experience. I would really recommend her

Re: Bird College End of Year Show 2019

Watched the show yesterday (And DS' Graduation). It was truly amazing and I felt so emotional-5 years at Sylvias, 3 years at Bird, countless rejections and some awesome successes. Not sure what the future holds in the adult world of MT but thank you to all of you on here for your advice, support and...

Re: Bird College End of Year Show 2019

She should be able to tell you which shows group B are doing more in. I think it's every other one so they would be second show in. But get her to check. We have this problem every year and had to book quite late but managed to get tickets

Re: GCSE music

DS did music GCSE but I wouldn't say that it has been useful. He is training at Bird and has used none of the knowledge from the GCSE
The thing that he has found useful is his music lessons he had when he was younger as he can accompany himself whilst singing and also plays for other students

Re: Agency advice please!

Has the agency been submitting her for jobs? May be worth finding that out. If they haven't, then it's certainly better to change. I took my daughter off a very well known larger agency to go with a much smaller one. We found that she was submitted for far more jobs with the smaller agency who didn'...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

For anybody starting at Bird this September-Ds in final year and has lived with the most incredible host family for the whole 3 years. He was only 16 when he started and they have cared for him so well. Really great location too. PM if you would like details. Ds will be sad to leave them

Re: Juggling school and working - when does something have to give?

We had the same when Ds was in primary school-they were great at first but less enthusiastic as he was cast in more shows. He went to Sylvia Youngs for secondary school where he worked on and off the whole time he was there, which they were very happy about as long as he kept up with his school work
