Re: Child performance license
It should be the employer who applies for the licence with the parent filling in Part B. If you go onto your local authority child employment section of the website you can usually download the form.

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
In which case that is really odd as LAMDA don't have set syllabus pieces for Grades 6-8 acting. Who exactly advised her of this? For Grade 7 candidates simply choose one pre 1800, one between 1800 and 2000 and one post 200 monologue from a published play or screen play.

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry
What Grade was it?
The concern might be that if it is a set LAMDA monologue that it might not be complex etc enough for degree level auditions.

Jo Hawes
Technically this isn’t the right section but it’s pretty much the only one active. Many members of this board will have come across the wonderful Jo Hawes, children’s casting director. It has been announced that very sadly, she passed away in the early hours of the morning. A sad loss to the theatre...

They appear to have dropped the Trinity Diploma which is the only course you could get a DaDa for.

Re: The end or the start - who knows
Just to update you. Yesterday dd was offered a panto tour (small scale venues) for 6 weeks over November/December. She also took part in an paid Arts Council funded multi-media dance/art project last month. Her ambition was to be able to tell stories so this is a start!

Possibly.
My daughter has had to leave her course which is very similar to that offered by MTA due to the cost.

Re: The end or the start - who knows
It wasn't really clear unfortunately. The MA and the Advanced Diploma are the exact same course just the MA is accredited and the students get extra academic requirements in a similar way that at somewhere like Bird College the Diploma and BA course are exactly the same, just with extra academics fo...

Re: The end or the start - who knows
It’s essentially because although each year can be standalone it is meant as a two year thing. So the agent showcase is at the end of next year.

Re: The end or the start - who knows
The agent showcase at her previous college was cancelled when approx 70% of the cast caught covid in the summer of 2021. They did do an online one and she was approached by two smaller agents back then but she had already decided to do further study and in hindsight made a bad decision. She was hopi...

The end or the start - who knows
So, yesterday dd left full time training. After a lot of training was lost at her first college and her agent showcase was cancelled due to covid she decided to do a postgraduate course. Unfortunately funding/finances means that she only completed the Core part of that course where she performed in ...
