Re: Why.. Can anyone help please

I think one of the busiest boards is the training board. There are very long threads chronicling the ups and downs of auditioning for professional training and the knowledge that has been shared on there is invaluable.

Re: 'Traditional'?

Its not really a recognised trm as such but I suspect they mean standard legit/book musicals.

Perhaps go for something jukebox style.

Re: Dance clothes for training - quantity?

I think it depends on what events/performances occur. I'm fairly sure that black isn't required for the Christmas Cathedral concert. (All students take part but there is an auditioned Chamber Choir alongside the whole school choir). Last year I thnk they wore black for the Anniversary Gala but I did...

Re: CPA Closure and other college’s responses

I know that where my daughter is going is already over subscribed for September for new first years. There is often a little natural wastage in other years but DaDa funding will already be allocated and I guess its whether staff are avaiable over the summer to actually audition. Most of the audition...

Re: CPA Closure and other college’s responses

I don't post much any more but came on today because I saw this in The Stage. I have posted before about financial viability of the various colleges. I would once again urge prospective parents and students to look into the colleges they are thinking of going to. There are a couple of colleges often...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

Gosh, 11 college auditions is a lot!! If your DD is happy to go to any of the colleges if accepted then go for it. I'd also recommend going to the CDET conference and on to the showcase in the evening. We went last year and it really helped my DD choose the places she wanted to audition at - all be...

Re: Auditioning for Sept 2019

That is a lot. If ballet is important to her then there are definately some colleges that place more emphasis on ballet. Laine is one, Hammond is another (they also offer generous bursaries for those who don’t qualify for a DaDA.) Urdang, Bird & LSC should be on the consideration list too along ...

Re: Rocketman - Jo Hawes Casting

Ds didn't get through. He said one boy who did get through had an unbroken voice. He found it very challenging as he hasn't had the benefit of attending proper drama classes so he'd never played those kinds of improvisation games before. He is autistic and found that kind of interaction and working...
