Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Has anyone had any experience with waiting lists eg Conti, Arts Ed, Mountview, Urdang? From what we can see they all work quite differently. My DS is on the reserve list for Acting at Central. They only take 16 students, so he's proud to have got that far, but we can't really sense whether it is ev...

Has anyone had any experience with waiting lists eg Conti, Arts Ed, Mountview, Urdang? From what we can see they all work quite differently. Hi my dd was on the Mountview wait list last year. As it was for the BA Hons acting and she was only 17 we didn’t hold out much hope. She was planning a year ...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

@lizzybee DS isn't applying for MT anywhere else - he really enjoys it but his heart is with acting and he feels an actor can still do character parts in musicals, whereas a typical MT trained performer doesn't often get to do Shakespeare. That's a generalisation, I know. He's also not confident he...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

@gymmom Wow! What an amazing achievement. You call it luck, I think your daughter must be very talented to get in for acting at 18. Huge well done to her. Thank you so much. I honestly think choice of audition material is vital and she spent months reading plays to find the right contemporary piece...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

@Gymmom That's brilliant news for your DD! Are you allowed to say where she's off to? Thank you so much. She started today at Mountview (BA Acting) She did not apply until after Xmas. Tbh we didn’t expect an offer this year as she only turned 18 end of August, this cycle was about gaining some expe...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Good luck everyone. It is a stressful time but our DC take these things in their stride. We were on the reserve list until 26th August before being offered a place. It’s a hard year but so worth it. The experience of auditioning gives a real idea of how tough this industry is. Before the late offer ...

Re: Auditioning for 2023 entry

Feels like tempting fate, but I'm starting a thread. DS is going into Year 13 and will be auditioning for post-18 acting courses, but all are welcome on the thread, whether MT or acting. In all honesty we are very prepared for the fact that for acting the schools like them to be older, and he may g...

Re: Auditioning for 2022 entry

Hi just found out a week ago my DD got a place on the BA Acting course at Mountview. Delighted but a mad rush to get ready to move to London. She turned 18 four days later so it’s been a fantastic celebration. Good luck to everyone starting over the next couple of weeks
